Fans lined up as early as 11 a.m. on a 90+ degree October Monday to snag front row spots at Suki Waterhouse’s concert at The Pageant later that night. The “Model, Actress, Whatever,” who is nearing the end of her North American leg of The Loveland Tour, brought along openers EMMMA and Rochelle Jordan to complete the experience.
Born and raised in Connecticut, the now London-based up-and-coming multi-instrumentalist EMMMA opened the night to the growing crowd of mostly 20-somethings. Flanked by Ollie Thacker on tabletop drums, EMMMA performed a powerful 20-minute set of her soaring, emotionally charged power pop that included the sultry “Fall From Grace” and “So Good.”
Next up, the L.A.-based (via London and Toronto) Rochelle Jordan, along with DJ Chrysalis providing the beats, performed 30 minutes of her dance-pop house music that was reminiscent of early EDM mixed with disco/techno pop. Dressed in sequins, Jordan’s dramatic poses added to the ambiance. Songs included “Ladida” and “Bite the Bait.”
